February 2002 Santa Fe, New Mexico The Bishop's Lodge Resort and Spa is eagerly anticipating the completion of their newly constructed Shánah Spa mid May 2002. The new spa facility is located on 440 acres and consists of 7,000 square feet of peaceful interior space and 16,000 square feet of serene gardens.

The philosophy of the Shánah Spa is one of a holistic nature, aiming to create a wellness environment promoting the generation of harmony between the mind, body and spirit, whereby offering guests a tranquil atmosphere in which to be pampered. Reflecting the culture of the southwest the word Shánah has been borrowed from the Navajo Indian tribe and when translated describes our spa's goal – to create a vigorous, energetic and healthy experience.

The mission of Shánah Spa is to help guests heal and rejuvenate by offering an array of treatments ranging from Aromatherapy Massages, Deep Cleansing Facials, Slimming Massages, Salt Scrubs, Hot Stone Massages and Watsu Treatments. The products used at the spa are organic and are primarily derived from local minerals and herbs. Many of the herbs that are used at the Shánah Spa are grown in The Bishop's Lodge's own herb garden, conveniently located on the property.

The Shánah Spa offers six indoors therapeutic rooms, including a wet room and incorporates lushly landscaped spa gardens that highlight a watsu tub and various outdoor treatments.

Currently rated four-star by Mobil Travel Guide, The Bishop's Lodge Resort & Spa recently finished a renovation that included the refurbishment of the lobby, lounge and restaurant, a new meeting and conference facility and 21 newly constructed fireplace rooms with spectacular views.
