Park City Mountain Resort invests $5 million in improvements for the 2004-2005 Season

Park City, UT August 18, 2004 -- Park City Mountain Resort, ranked a top ten resort by Ski magazine the last 17 years, continues to enhance the on-mountain experience for its guests with nearly $5 million in improvements for the 2004 - 2005 season.

"Replacing the First Time chairlift with a high-speed, four-passenger detachable lift is our biggest investment for the 2004 - 2005 season," said Julie Hopkins, director of marketing and sales for the Resort. "The replacement of this lift will give our beginner skiers and snowboarders a better learning experience and more efficiently move skiers out of the lower base area of the Resort."

"The second area of focus is our summer activities," Hopkins continued. "We've doubled our summer business in the last five years, and it became time to double the capacity of our most popular rides to meet consumer demand."

The original Alpine Slide was first built 27 years ago. The Resort added two new Alpine Slide lanes to the existing two lanes on July 24, 2004. The two new lanes take a unique route down the mountain with more curls, swirls, dips and turns.

The Resort installed the first ZipRider in the world in 2002. Since the opening, the Zip Rider has been so popular that two new cables were installed on July 2, 2004. The Zip Rider is 2,300 feet, the longest in the world. The ride propels riders across the Resort skiway at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour from 110 feet in the air.

Other capital improvements at Park City Mountain Resort focus on keeping the Resort fresh and updated:
--Painting interiors and exteriors of buildings.
--Adding new rails, features and music to the Resort's #1 ranked terrain parks.
--Replacing the Mid-Mountain Lodge roof.

Park City Mountain Resort has the most skiers and riders of any Resort in Utah. "Investing in our product is key for us to continue to attract the number of summer and winter visitors we have each year that makes us a leader in our industry," said Hopkins.

Park City Mountain Resort is a premier winter destination. Offering 3,300 acres of varied terrain, Park City Mountain Resort is consistently ranked among the top ten mountain resorts in North America for its accessibility, terrain parks and family programs. The Resort is conveniently located 36 miles away from the Salt Lake International Airport. For more information about Park City Mountain Resort visit us online at www.parkcitymountain.com .
